McHenry FBC has many ministries currently ongoing, with moreplanned as the Lord provides! There is an area for you to both be served, and to serve the Lord at McHenry First Baptist!

  • Sunday School

The Sunday School program at McHenry is growing slowly but surely! From 2007-08 and an average attendance of 30, that has grown to 40 over the past couple of months, and we could not be more excited! We offer a nursery for those who might have infants and toddlers, with classes for Pre-K & K, 1st - 3rd Grades, 4th - 6th Grades, Youth (7th - 12th Grades), Adult Men, and Adult Ladies, plus our brand new Young Adult class! It all begins with a welcome fellowship session, with coffee and a snack at 9:45 in the Fellowship Hall, so come on in and check out what you've been missing at Sunday School!

  • Music Ministry

The music ministry at McHenry has seen a formal revival and growth! The sanctuary choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM for rehearsal, and gathers every Sunday morning for worship preparation and warm-up at 10:45.  Anyone wishing to join us for contatas only are certainly welcome; however, with special performances throughout the year, our sanctuary choir would love to have you join with us on a regular basis, and help make our 'noise' even more joyful unto the Lord as part of your worship ministry unto Him!

  • One Student Ministries

Recognizing that the young people are the future of any group or organization, McHenry FBC's youth ministries rightfully named themselves 'One Student Ministries - Leaving the 99 for the one.' Under the direction of Brent & Amanda Hickman, both young people themselves, the group has grown steadily over the past couple of years. They meet every Wednesday at 7 PM, and even have a van service should anyone need a ride! The group is very active, with summer camp and many other activities planned for the year. Why don't you come check us out, and see for yourself!

  • Men's Brotherhood

The men of McHenry are very active in the community and beyond, and are constantly looking for ways to reach out for the Lord. We worked very hard after Katrina, to help not only McHenry, but all area residents get 'back to normal' as soon as possible. Today, we are always busy with something, but also have room for those unexpected projects that always arise. So, if you know of an elderly person or shut-in that is in need, let us know! We fellowship together over a pot-luck style breakfast on the 1st Sunday morning of each month at 7:30, and would love to have you come join us! On the 3rd Sunday of each month, the group meets at Tuxechena Baptist Church at 7:30, and all are welcome to gather with us there as well!

We have also begun to gather at the Triple Nickle Cafe here in McHenry on other Sunday mornings. We have a 'dutch treat' breakfast together, followed by a devotion and a time of prayer. If you or someone you know would like to join us at the cafe, please do so!

  • WMU ~ Women's Missionary Union

The ladies of McHenry are also getting together to fellowship, go on outings, and do missions projects themselves. The WMU is also very active in supporting other groups and activities in and around the church, such as GAs, or 'Girls in Action', and so on. We would love for you to come join us!

In 2010, the ladies have chosen 'Women Warriors for Christ' as the name for their group. They plan to meet on the last Saturday of each month, beginning in January. They will plan future meetings, have brunch, and begin a Bible study program at the January meeting. All ladies are welcome to join our fellowship, and bring a friend along too!

  • RAs and GAs

There is truly something for everyone here at Mchenry! For the young ladies in our congregation, we have a "Girls in Action", or GAs groupthat meets every Wednesday evening at 7 PM. This group is led by Anita Anderson and Gracie Flurry, and they would love for your daughter to join with them! GAs are for girls through the 6th grade, so come on out and join the fun!

And boys, you are certainly not forgotten! The Royal Ambassadors, or RAs for short, have begun to meet once again thanks to new deacons Rex Cuevas and Ernie Holliman. The group is off and running with about 15 on a regular basis, and also meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM. It too is for young men through the 6th grade, and you are welcome and wanted! Drop by and check us out as we seek to be Royal Ambassadors for Christ!

  • McHenry FBC "eVANgelism" Ministry

Here at McHenry, we offer van service to and from the Sunday morning services in the local area. If you, or someone you know, would like to come to church, but doesn't have a way to get here, please let us know and we will make sure they have a ride. We can even include the evening services, should the need arise! transportation is also available for the Youth and Wednesday evening services as well. Please contact us via email, or by calling 601-528-4256.
